Sunday Service

Weekly Sunday morning service starts at 11am taking place in the main sanctuary with additional facilities upstairs providing junior church and children’s activities. Our services are relaxed, interactive and family friendly where all are welcome. Holy communion is offered on the second Sunday of every month led by either our Minister or one of our trained Elders. You do not have to be confirmed to take part in communion at our church as we believe Jesus welcomed all in, including children.

Life Events

We are authorised and registered to hold marriages, baptisms and funerals at Elmwood Avenue United Reformed Church and if you would like to consider holding any of these special ceremonies at our church please get in touch via the website contact form or call our minister, Revered Jenny Travis directly on 01925 211141. In helping you to plan the perfect service, we will be happy to discuss specific wishes and requests with you at length in a kind and caring manner.

If you are thinking of holding a special ceremony at Elmwood and would like to visit us informally to find out more, we would be pleased to welcome you along to one of our Sunday services or events to have a look around and introduce you to our church family.

Worship in the Community

We are pleased to have a partnership with Ryfield's retirement village where our Minister and Elders lead worship with residents at least once a month. We offer a Communion service on the first Monday evening of every month at 6pm in the 'quiet room' and in addition hold special services throughout the year such as remembrance and tree of light.

Joint Pastorate

The past 12 months have seen the formation of a new joint pastorate across Warrington between four United Reformed Churches; Elmwood, St Johns (Wilderspool Causeway), Thomas Risley (Birchwood) and Lymm. We hold regular joint activities with our sister churches including worship and social events which all communities are welcome to join in with.
